Wairere King Wide Vision Romneys 
Wairere King is a joint venture with Wairere, NZ's number one ram breeder. Over 40 years Wairere have focused on tracking those genetic traits which most influence performance and add value to your flock.

These Sires are then put to the Wairere King Ewe flock at White Rock Station in the Eastern Wairarapa, where they endure harsh dry coastal conditions. From this flock of 4000 ewes (which have 25 years of Wairere breeding) Wairere King annually source their ram lambs. The ram lambs are then tagged and recorded, and in December of each year Wairere King make their selection from only the twin male progeny. This superior genetics package, combined with strict selection criteria is the cornerstone of the Wairere King formula for producing High Performance Rams.
Making Great Rams Even Better
Upon selection I transfer the ram lamb flock to my King Country property where my focus is on making great ram lambs even better. Here at Wairere King I run these genetically enhanced 2th rams on some of the steepest unforgiving hill country in New Zealand. My policy is to run high stock numbers with minimal drenching.
Eye Muscle Scanning and Strict Culling
I then select rams for sale through a combination of Eye muscle Scanning and eye assessment, looking for good confirmation and structure. A policy of strict culling is applied (in 2008 I sold only the top 11% of the male progeny from White Rock Station). The bottom line is I put these sheep through the mill and apply severe pressure. The results are 2th rams which have a natural resilience, great constitution, high survivability, and transfer well to even the harshest of New Zealand's farming conditions.
